Riot Games has introduced changes to the in-game Premier tournament mode in Valorant. With the release of the ninth episode, the developers will add a new title, which should make it easier for players to enter the professional shooter scene.
The new rank is called Invite. In each region, 32 teams with the most points in the Contender rank will be able to qualify. Competitors in both divisions will be required to play a minimum of two Premier matches per week to maintain their place in the tournament. At the end of the year, the best teams of the Invite rank will be able to compete in qualification for the regional Challengers level tournament, where semi-professional teams compete.
Premier mode arrived in Valorant in the summer of 2023. Since then, Riot Games has been adding new features to the tournament, with plans to make it the primary way to get into the professional shooter scene in the future. An update with a new rank and qualification in Challengers is planned for June 2024.
