The network of electronic terminals for non-cash payments has expanded significantly in the Belgorod region. As the press service of the Belgorod branch of the Bank of Russia reported, over the year their number increased by 75.2% and reached 1,577 pieces.
As of January 1, 2024, the payment infrastructure for transactions with bank cards in the region included 1,093 ATMs And 41,070 terminals (including electronic terminals installed in trade organizations, cash dispensing points and non-cash payment terminals). In the Belgorod region there is 977 ATMs with a cash dispensing function, they can accept money 912. This is how the infrastructure adapts to the demand: over the past year, local residents and guests of the region withdrew money in our region less than 20 million times – on 9.2% less often than a year earlier.
“The number of electronic terminals for non-cash payments in trade and service organizations increased by 2.4% and approached 38 thousand units. At the same time, the region is also developing a “cash at checkout” service, which allows you to withdraw money from the card in stores, pharmacies, and gas stations simultaneously with non-cash payment for goods. As of January 1, 2024, there were such points in the region 363. The service is especially in demand in remote areas of the region,” noted Olga Avershina, head of the payment systems and settlements sector of the Belgorod Branch of the Bank of Russia.
In total, in the Belgorod region in 2023, over 394 million transactions for total cost 549 billion rubles. The average bill for paying for goods and services using bank cards was 686 rubles.
