Puppet theater directors will be trained in Novosibirsk

In 2024, the Novosibirsk State Theater Institute will open enrollment in the specialty “Puppet Theater Director”. This was reported by the TASS agency with reference to the rector of the educational institution Vasily Kuzin.

“This year, for the first time, we are recruiting not only puppet theater artists, but also directors. This is a very in-demand profession; many puppet theaters lack people with special acting and directing education, so we consider it very important to contribute to the development of not only theater education in Siberia, but also in Russia in general,” said Kuzin.

In addition, according to him, the university will train specialists in the field of “Performing Arts Producer”. This course will enroll 10 students who, after graduation, will be able to work in professional theater organizations or independently organize various events.

Another innovation will be the first enrollment for assistantship-internship (postgraduate education), within which students, among other things, will be able to receive pedagogical training.

In addition, the university will open enrollment for the specialization “Musical Artist”.

The Novosibirsk State Theater Institute received university status in 2003, having been formed from a theater school founded in 1960.
