The Paninsky District Court found a 42-year-old Moscow resident guilty in connection with the death of a 21-year-old girl in an accident that occurred on April 22 last year. The woman was given a suspended sentence of 2 years in prison and was also deprived of the right to drive vehicles for 2 years, the police press service writes.

The tragic accident happened on the 297th kilometer of the R-298 Kursk – Saratov highway. A Muscovite, who was driving a foreign car Hyundai ix35, drove into the oncoming lane, where she collided with a domestic Lada Priora car. The driver was a 21-year-old resident of the Novokhopyorsky district.

As a result of the accident, the passenger of the Lada Priora, a 21-year-old girl from the Volgograd region, died at the scene from her injuries, the police press service noted.

After the incident, both drivers and two passengers of the foreign car required hospitalization.

The verdict came into force.
