Cleaning and cleaning of monuments and obelisks on the eve of the celebration of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War has begun in the Prioksky district of Nizhny Novgorod, the district administration reported.

Traditionally, leading organizations and enterprises in the area help in these works, each of which is assigned a specific facility, where employees clean the area, paint and repair fences, and, if necessary, paint pedestals. It should be noted that the entire enterprise will renovate six obelisks of military glory in the villages of Beshentsevo, Mordvintsevo, Lyakhovo, Olgino, Blizhnekonstantinovo, as well as a memorial sign to Hero of the Soviet Union M.F. Larina on Larina Street, 1.

One of the first this year to be updated was the monument to “Memory and Glory” in the village of Olgino by the NIIIS named after. Yu.E. Sedakova.

“Thank you to the businesses for the help they provide every year. Thanks to their work, our monuments always look good. All areas will be landscaped by May 1st. By next year, on the anniversary of the Victory, each of them is planned to be overhauled. We will wash memorial plaques separately. We will pay special attention to the monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov – we are cleaning it and putting it in order,” said the acting head of the Prioksky district, Vadim Kharchenko.
