Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness for the Nintendo 64 is considered a classic today, despite issues such as blurry graphics and unstable gameplay. You might think that a game developed in the last century (in 1999) could not contain new surprises, but there is a twist in this story. New Konami code was recently discovered, and it’s interesting enough to give Castlevania fans a new look at the game.

This trick was first revealed by players Moises and LiquidCat on the Castlevania 64 Discord server, as reported on YouTube by user JupiterClimb. To unlock it, you just need to double-enter the original Konami code (tap ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → BA twice) and all the characters from Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness – Cornell, Reinhardt, Carrie and Henry – are instantly unlocked.

It also unlocks all of their alternate costumes and the game’s hard mode. Without the code, you’ll have to beat the game twice to unlock all four characters.

In addition to the main code, Moises and LiquidCat also dug up codes to fill the inventory, regardless of which character is used. The PAL and JPN versions also allow players to maximize the number of gems and weapon power.

JupiterClimb suggests that the code was installed by one of the developers who accidentally left it in the game, as has happened before with Konami games. Either way, it’s a fun surprise that breathes new life into a 25-year-old vampire game.
