April 24. Interfax-Russia.ru – Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov announced the need to review the provisions of the law on anti-terrorism security after the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.

“The tragedy that occurred a month ago at Crocus resonated with Russians with personal pain and caused a real shock for the entire civilized world. A full assessment has yet to be given, but we can already say that the scale of the terrorist attack showed the need to revise the law on safety at such facilities,” – Krasnov said on Wednesday, speaking at the Federation Council with his annual report.

According to him, a high level of terrorist threats is protected in the Russian Federation. Almost 2.5 thousand such crimes were registered last year.

“The number of terrorist acts has increased almost three and a half times. Most of them were committed by members of Ukrainian radical organizations and their adherents, as well as ardent opponents of the SVO,” said the Prosecutor General.

Krasnov noted that, despite the decrease in the number of registered extremist crimes, every third of them is still committed via the Internet.

“Social networks are actively used by provocateurs to spread radical ideology and false, distorted information. Our citizens, through popular telegram channels, often receive information with calls to carry out destructive activities, including instructions for carrying out sabotage and confiscating weapons from police officers and military personnel,” – said the Prosecutor General.

In this regard, prosecutors paid special attention to the timely blocking of fake and other information that incites interethnic and interfaith conflicts.

“Over a thousand demands were sent to Roskomnadzor, as a result of which illegal information was removed from 95 thousand sites. Measures were taken to prevent foreign interference in the internal affairs of our country. Based on claims from the Prosecutor General’s Office, three organizations were recognized by the courts as extremist, and decisions were made against two terrorist organizations. their elimination,” he added.

According to Krasnov, over the past two years the list of foreign and international non-governmental organizations recognized as undesirable in Russia has more than doubled. To date, the relevant register contains information about 155 legal entities with this status.
