Weakness after illness is normal and disappears within a month.
Candidate of Medical Sciences, general practitioner Aleksey Khukhrev, in an interview with Sputnik radio, said that weakness after suffering a covid is an adequate response of the body and the immune system to an infection. Within a maximum of a month, it should pass.
So, Khukhrev emphasized that in view of the long process of restoring the body, one should not overstrain one’s health by various methods – this can only do harm.
“If you spur yourself on with the help of coffee and energy drinks, then you won’t be able to get a big increase in strength, because energy is not taken from the air. Such ways to cheer up will put pressure on the body, which is trying to recover after all this nastiness,” the doctor explained.
A distinctive feature of COVID-19 is just that the recovery process after it is much slower than from other respiratory diseases. However, if after a month the weakness does not go away, you should consult a doctor.
“You just have to be patient, get enough sleep, don’t drive horses,” Khukhrev summed up.
